What is Data Purge?

Data Purge
Data purge is the permanent deletion of the unwanted/old data. Purge process is ideal for customers who want to manage their storage (disk space) or database size efficiently by permanently deleting the data that is no longer required by them from the database. Some customers might want to purge data to improve application performance. Data Purge is available with Professional and Enterprise Edition only, for other edition users it is available with Custom License.

Note:
  • It is strictly recommended to take the backup of transaction before starting of Data Purge process. In any case if that backup is required, it can be restored.
  • The user need to send a confirmation mail to GoFrugal Support Staff to do the Data Purge, as careful handling of the process is required.
  • It is recommended to close other process in the system, to complete the Data Purge without any interruption.
  • After the completion of Data Purge, you will not find any data.
  • It is recommended that use only one system enhancement process at a time, that is either Data Purge or Data Archive. Do not use both in a concurrent way.
Limitations:
  • Data Purge is available with Professional, Enterprise and Service Module editions. For Starter and Standard edition, it is available with commercial.
  • The purge process duration depends upon the volume of data.
  • It is not recommended to do a purge process in counters at peak business hours because when the purge process will start, the system would not be able to save the bills.
  • For VSS  customer Data Purge is not possible.
  • Company wise Data Purge is not possible.
The Data Purge comprises of:
  • Book Type - it deletes the Book Type transaction data like Sales, Purchase, Purchase Return, RPOS Trac etc.

  • Category - category wise deletion of the data. To get more detail on category wise purge, click Category
  • All Transaction - It deletes all the transaction data like Sales, Purchase, Purchase Return, RPOS Trac etc. Transaction number is not rested in all transaction. To get more detail on all transaction, click All Transaction
  • Reduce Sales* - It delete the data based on the item and its percentage. To get more detail on reduce sales, click Reduce Sales* 
    Note - 100% deletion of the data is not possible.
  • Audit Purge - It delete all the audit transaction data for any Bill Cancel, Bill Edit, Sales Bill etc. To get more detail on audit purge, click Audit Purge
  • Data Cleanup - It clean the data. After completing the Data Cleanup only Item Name is displayed but all the additional details like Qty, Cost, Selling, M.R.P, Stock Bill Number etc. gets deleted. Transaction number is rested. To get more detail on data cleanup, click Data Cleanup
