Purpose
The Assembly Item Mapping feature helps businesses streamline the production and sales process by mapping individual components (ingredients) to a finished product (assembly item). This ensures accurate inventory management and efficient stock handling during sales and production.
Example : A bakery produces "Chocolate Cake" as its finished product. The cake is made using several components: Flour (500g), Sugar (300g), Cocoa Powder 200g), Eggs (2 units)
Steps:
The bakery sets up "Chocolate Cake" in the system as an Assembly Item with a Preparation Status of "Assembly."
The individual ingredients (Flour, Sugar, Cocoa Powder, and Eggs) are added as items with a Preparation Status of "Ingredients."
Using the Assembly Mapping screen, the bakery maps the required quantities of each ingredient to the Chocolate Cake item.
Impact:
When a Chocolate Cake is sold, the stock of its ingredients is automatically deducted based on the mapped quantities.
If any ingredient is out of stock, the system alerts the user, allowing them to either restock the ingredient or substitute it with an alternative.
