Purpose :

Change selling facilitates to change the selling price and MRP of the items. The selling price of the products will change more often in accordance with market change. Especially, the prices of the items in supermarkets and grocery stores will always be changing overnight. Using Change Selling screen, You can load the items and change the selling price and MRP in a minute location wise.

Why it is used in TruPOS:  

In POS, the Change Selling feature is used to quickly modify the Selling Price or MRP of items directly from the store, without waiting for updates from the back office.
This is especially useful when there are frequent price changes due to market fluctuations, offers, or competitor pricing.
It helps store operators ensure that the latest and correct prices are applied during billing, maintaining both accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Note :

1. Make sure you are certain of the modifications before modifying the rates. After altering the selling price, the Bills you generate will reflect the updated prices.

2. The difference between the cost price and the new selling price must be higher.

Detailed steps for Change selling :

1. From Dashboard, Go to Inventory module → More → Change selling

2.  In the Business setup, select the location, area, state, or circle. Through the use of Tools → Business configuration → Change selling

3. When the batch detail change selling configuration is enabled, the batch number is displayed in the change selling screen. through the use of Tools → Business Configuration → Enable batch detail change selling. The change selling screen displays a batch modal pop-up window..

4. Choose the branch you wish to update the sale rate for specific items for, from the list that shows.

5. After choosing the branch, click on the "Item code" option. You will then be able to filter by the item name, EAN code, alias code, and code.

6. Enter the new selling price and the new MRP for the item after selecting it, then click the Add button.

7. To view the report of Change selling details, Go to Reports → My reports → Change selling details.

 Category Filter 

1. From Dashboard, Go to Inventory module → More → Change selling → Click Category Filter.

2. Then choose Category and Sub Category values.
3. Enter the New Selling price and New MRP.
4. Click Save.

To check the change Selling details in Reports, Go to Reports → My reports → Change selling details.

Q1) Can cost price be changed in change selling menu?

Answer : Cost price can be changed only via Location wise item update migration. Refer the link cost price change for the same

Q2) Can change selling be done batch wise?

Answer : Yes, change selling can be done batch wise by using the "Enable batch details in change selling" configuration in Business Configuration Screen.If the item has multiple batches, you will be able to select the batch, after selecting the item

Q3) Is it possible to provide selling price below cost price? Need this for business requirement

Answer : Although it is not advisable to provide selling price below cost, it is possible. Enable the configuration "Allow change selling below cost" should be enabled from Business configuration. Updating the selling price less than cost price is not a correct process because it will result in negative profits.
