Configuring Service Charge for a Tender Type

Configuring Service Charge for a Tender Type

Purpose

A service charge can be added to a specific Tender Type to apply an additional fee during the payment process. This feature is useful when you want to add extra charges, such as for specific payment methods like coupons or gift cards. The following steps outline how to add or edit service charges for a particular Tender Type in the system.

Steps to Add Service Charge to a Tender Type

Step 1: Open Tender Type Master

  1. Navigate to the Tender Type Master in the system where all available tender types are listed. This is typically found in the Sales or Master Data section of the POS or backend system.

Step 2: Select the Tender Type

  1. Once in the Tender Type Master, click the Change button to modify the settings for a specific tender type.

Step 3: Choose the Tender Type for Service Charge

  1. From the list of available tender types, select the one for which you want to add a service charge.

    • For example, if you want to apply a service charge to Coupon Tender, select Sodexo or the corresponding coupon tender in your system.

Step 4: Enter the Service Charge

  1. After selecting the tender type, locate the field where you can input the service charge percentage. Enter the appropriate percentage for the service charge that you wish to apply for that tender type.

    • Example: If you want to add a 5% service charge, enter 5.

Step 5: Save the Configuration

  1. Once the service charge is entered, click Save to update the system with the new service charge configuration for the selected tender type.

Editing Service Charge Percentage

If you wish to edit the service charge percentage at a later, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Tender Type Master and click Change.

  2. Select the relevant tender type (e.g., Sodexo).

  3. To enable editing of the service charge percentage, use the Space Bar to enable the field where the percentage is entered.

  4. Modify the percentage as required and click Save.

Conclusion

Adding a service charge to a tender type allows businesses to automatically apply fees to certain payment methods like coupons or specific cards. This helps ensure that additional costs are accounted for without manual entry during each sale. Follow the above steps to set up or edit service charges easily.
