Database Split

Purpose:

The purpose of database split is to split the databases financial year wise which will help in increasing the performance of GOFRUGAL RetailEasy and also helps you to split the old and unwanted databases financial year wise.

Benefits: 

* Increased performance in the billing system

* Reduces the Database Size as the database is getting split as per the customer needs. 

* Can split or add the databases whenever its required. 

Click on Tools - > Config - > Database Split

Note: The client machines need to be stopped before starting the database split process. 

*Read the instructions and click on "Split DB" 

* By default, it will show the financial year from the installed year (installation of POS)  and allows us to split the data stored before the last financial year. ( i.e. 31.03.2021 for Indian customers and 31.12.2021 for International customers )

* Click on "Yes" to split the database

* In the next screen, system will prompt an option to shrink the database, on clicking " yes " it will shrink the database. 

* Enter the privileged password to proceed with the database split process. The split and shrink process will take some time based on the system performance.

* After the database split, the old data will be split and moved into another database.

* In the login screen of RetailEasy, we can select the database which we want to use. 

* Old data can be used for the viewing purpose alone.

* On selecting the RPOS7 database, users can continue the regular business operations. 

 

Limitations: Old transactions cannot be modified (edited /cancelled) after the database split.
