What is Item Hierarchy Level?

 

The Item Hierarchy Level is used in Categorizing the items for better understanding, accessibility, and navigation. This can also help you for the Online website or Mobile App category structural designing.

What are the Benefits of Maintaining Item Hierarchy Level?

 

  • Item hierarchy can help businesses with inventory control and best customer experience. A more organized purchasing experience can help customers quickly locate the products they need according to features and price while exploring competing products.

  • Also, customer can have better clarity over the categories & sub-categories irrespective of their demand in the markets.

 

For example, a customer wants to create the Category as 'Chocolates' & Sub-Category as 'Dairy'.

So this can be done in two ways :

 

  1. You can update the Item-Wise Category (For each item separately)

  2. You can update the categories of Multiple Items at once

 

Steps to update the Category of each Item Separately

 

Step 1: Go to MDM > Attribute Master Management > Item Attribute Master.



Step 2: Click on the 'Attribute Name' field to insert the categories.



Step 3: Put the details below:

1. Value = This is Value or the Subcategory name.

2. Applicable Online = Set it as Yes if you want this category to be displayed in any of our Integrations.

3. Visibility = Set is as Yes for activate or view the category in Item Master.

4. Choose Parent = Select the Parent item for the sub category if you want to activate the Item Hierarchy Level feature or the category tree structure feature.

 

 


Step4: Now you can see all the listed categories & Subcategories on this page.



Steps to update the categories of Multiple Items at once

 

Step 1: Go to Support > Migration > Bulk Category Insert.





Step 2: Select the desired Category from the list.

 

Step 3: Put the new List Value or the category name, Applies Online, Applicable to mobile device, Parent name and Visibility.

 

Step 4: Click on the Save button to complete the process.



FAQ's

 

1. Can I edit the categories/ Sub categories, after mapping it to the items?

Ans: Categories can be edited until no live entries are made for the items. If entries are made, it is not possible to edit them.
