The Item Hierarchy Level is used in Categorizing the items for better understanding, accessibility, and navigation. This can also help you for the Online website or Mobile App category structural designing.
What are the Benefits of Maintaining Item Hierarchy Level?
Item hierarchy can help businesses with inventory control and best customer experience. A more organized purchasing experience can help customers quickly locate the products they need according to features and price while exploring competing products.
Business Scenario: Suppose a business owner of Retail Chain wants to further categorize their products on the basis of 'Wheat & Pulses' as Product Type and 'Ashirwad Atta 5kg' as Brand Name.
There are 2 ways of assigning items to article hierarchy.
For the particular Item.
For the Multiple Items.
How to assign items to the article hierarchy for Particular Item?
Step: 1 Go to Inventory > Masters > Item Master.
Step3: Then go to 'Category Details' and map the created Main category & Sub Category.
Step:4 Click on 'Save' to save the details.
In this way, you can map the categories with the Item Master.
How to assign items to the article hierarchy for Multiple Items?
Step:1 For this go to Inventory > Master > Item Master.
Step2: Click on 'Ctrl+F3' for 'Bulk Update'.
Step 3: Locate the Category column and filter the particular item for ‘Wheat & Pulses’. Then press 'Ctrl+C' to copy the selected category.
Step5: Similarly, for the Sub-Category column and filter the particular item for ‘Ashirwad’. Then press 'Ctrl+C' to copy the selected category.
Step4: Now select all the rest of the Sub-Categories & press 'Ctrl+V' key to paste the copied one.
Step5: Click on 'Save'.Step7: Click on 'Ok' & in this way you can assign the items to new hierarchy level in Bulk.
In this way, you can map the multiple categories with the Item Master.
