Do you know how to create a new Item Hierarchy level?

The Item Hierarchy or the Category Tree structure is used to set up the categorization of the items for the structural designing, reporting as well as for the Online website or Mobile Apps category structure.

To create the Item Hierarchy, do the following steps in POS:

Step 1: Go to Tools > Masters > Department Vs Category

 

Step 2: Put the Category names as desired.

Step 3: Set the Active column values as Yes.

Step 4: Set the Max Length column values as minimum as 6 and Max as 9.

Step 5: Click on Apply to save the changes.


Conclusion:

Item Hierarchy or the Category Tree structure is the most important part while doing the Implementation of our ERP application. If we do it in the wrong way, it will create issues in the future.


 

***Note: If the Structure is wrongly created and live entries are done in the database, we cannot change the structure in the future. The only way is to do re-implementation. So before going live, check the structure and then proceed.
