What is a BULK item?

In the retail business, a bulk item refers to a product that is sold in large quantities or packages. Bulk items are typically sold at a lower price per unit than if they were sold individually or in smaller packages, making them an attractive option for customers who need a large amount of a particular product.

Bulk items can include a wide variety of products, such as food items like rice, flour, and sugar, cleaning supplies like soap and detergent, and office supplies like paper and pens. Some retailers specialize in selling bulk items exclusively, such as warehouse clubs like Costco and Sam's Club.

Bulk items are often packaged in larger containers or bags than their smaller counterparts and may require customers to use their own containers or bags for transportation. In some cases, retailers may also offer special equipment or dispensers for bulk items, such as scoops or spigots for liquids.

Overall, bulk items are a popular option for customers who want to save money on products they frequently use or in large quantities and can be a profitable offering for retailers who can sell large quantities of product at a lower price point.

What is a Repacking item?

In the retail business, repacking refers to the process of changing the packaging or quantity of a product before it is sold to customers. A repacking item is a product that has been repackaged or re-portioned in some way.

Repacking can be done for a variety of reasons. For example, a retailer may repackage a product to create a more appealing presentation, to reduce the size or weight of the packaging for easier storage or shipping, or to customize the product for a specific customer or market segment.

Repacking can also be used to comply with regulations or to address safety concerns. For example, a retailer may need to repackage a product to meet labeling requirements or to ensure that it is safe for consumption.

Some common examples of repacking items in the retail business include bulk food items that are repackaged into smaller portions, gift baskets that are assembled from individual products, and pre-packaged meals that are portioned and packaged for individual servings. For example, Sugar 1 KG, Sugar 5KG, Sugar 500GM etc.

Overall, repacking can be a useful tool for retailers to customize their product offerings, comply with regulations, and improve the presentation and packaging of their products.
