01. What is a Loyalty Card?

The loyalty card is a card offered to your customers which they can redeem at the time of sales in your store. The loyalty card is offered to the customers with the aim of increasing the sales at the POS.

02. What are the two types of Loyalty cards?

Basically, there are two types of cards offered.

1. Amount based loyalty - Based on the bill amount, certain amount is offered to the customer as loyalty.

2. Points based loyalty -  Based on the amount of purchase, certain points are offered to the customer as loyalty. For each loyalty point, certain cash is assigned. The total loyalty depends upon the purchase amount. The loyalty point will be accumulated in the customers account which can be redeemed from the next purchase.

03. How can I benefit from the loyalty program?

Using the loyalty program, you can increase your sales, retail your existing customers and bring more customers in.

04. How can I create a loyalty program?

  1. Click Customer >> Loyalty Management >> Create Loyalty Program to open the create loyalty program screen
  2. For points-based loyalty
    • Select the option points in the Loyalty Based on field
    • Define the value in Each point in the Money field
    • Select the loyalty type - Bill wise / category wise / product wise
    • Enter the details in other mandatory fields
    • Save the loyalty program
  3. For Amount based loyalty
    • Select the option Amount in the Loyalty Based on field
    • Enter the details in other mandatory fields
    • Save the loyalty program

05. How can I create a loyalty card?

    You can create a loyalty card in the Item master. Click Inventory >> Masters >> Items to open the Item Master screen.
  • In the Name field, enter the name of the card you wish to create
  • In the Product Type field, select the option Customer Loyalty Card
  •  Enter the required information in the other mandatory fields viz. MFR Name, Sales Tax, Purchase Tax and Main Distributor
  • Save the record

Use the Loyalty card creation screen to generate the serial numbers for the loyalty card. After generating the serial numbers for the card, assign the rate for the cards. Save the data.

06. How can I map the loyalty program and the customer loyalty card?

Use the Map Loyalty Program and Customer Loyalty Card screen.
  • In the Select loyalty program field, select the loyalty program from the list
  • In the Item Name field, select the loyalty card from the list
  • Save the mapped data

07. Explain the steps involved in selling the loyalty card to the customers?

Use the Sell Customer Loyalty Card screen.

  • In the Name field, select the customer and all the details of the customer created in the Customer Master are  loaded in the customer details grid
  •  Select the loyalty card from the Loyalty card list in the Card Name field
  • In the Card Number field, enter the card number generated in customer Loyalty card creation
  • In the field Card Category, select the Card category as chargeable or complement
  • In the field Card Type, select the Card type as Addon Card or Primary card
  • Invoke tender and save the record

Note: For Addon Card, the fields Card Holder Name, Card Holder Mobile no, Card Holder Relation and Opening Loyalty Points are applicable.

08. Explain the steps in redeeming loyalty?

In the Tender master,

  • select the tender type: Redeem loyalty
  • Hide tender type: No

After loading the billable items and invoking tender, press ENTER in the loyalty field and the loyalty details will be displayed. Now, enter the Redeem amount, press ENTER and the entered amount is redeemed for the bill.

09. What is the primary card?

The Primary is the first card which is sold out to a particular customer for the first time.

10. What is an Add-on card?. When will a customer require an Add-on card?

An Add-on card is an additional card (second card) which can be used by anyone of the family members/relatives of the customer for redemption. The Loyalty points acquired by the particular customer is common to both primary and add-on cards. The redemption will be reflected in both the cards as these two cards are tied up to a single account.

11. Please explain how loyalty is affected in an HQ integrated environment?

In cases where two or more outlets function under an HQ integrated environment, loyalty can be redeemed at any of the outlets including the HQ. But, only card-based loyalty can be used in this case.

12. Can I make the loyalty redemption without the customer loyalty card?

Yes. Loyalty can be redeemed without the card. Using the customer name and his details or using the card name that is stored in your database, you can make the redemption for a customer even though your customer does not have the card.

13. Explain the difference between card-based and program based loyalty.

The card-based loyalty is one where you have a single loyalty program which is applied to all the customers for whom Loyalty is allowed in Customer Master.

The Program based loyalty is one where you have one or more loyalty programs and each one of the programs is mapped to a loyalty card.

14. My customer has lost his card?. Can I issue a new card?. How loyalty is affected in this case?

You can issue him a new card. The loyalty points acquired by the customer will remain the same.

15. How the loyalty is affected after a bill cancellation?

Case1: No redemption

The loyalty points added in a customer account will get reduced based on the cancelled bill amount

Case2: After redemption

The bill can not be cancelled once loyalty is redeemed.

16. Where this loyalty will be reflected in reports?

Refer the following reports:

  1. Loyalty Closed Customers - 3367
  2. Loyalty Pending Customers - 3368
  3. Loyalty Program List - 3342
  4. Loyalty Program Vs Card List - 3338

17.Is there any option to calculate the loyalty points for only Non-discounted products.?

  No

18.If suppose sales bill eligible for both loyalty and Offer,Is there any option to apply any one from billing.?

     Enable the config, Tools >> Configuration >> billing >> Ask confirmation to allow only bill offer or loyalty point

     While billing if suppose if a bill is eligible for both loyalty points and Offer then the system will ask the confirmation to apply 'Loyalty' or 'Offer'
