GST tax for Order Type Master

GST tax for Order Type Master

Purpose :- When a restaurant provides a takeaway or delivery service, the transaction is considered a sale of goods or services, and the restaurant must charge GST on the value of the sale. the purpose of charging GST for takeaway and delivery orders in the restaurant vertical is to comply with tax laws, ensure tax compliance, and create a level playing field for all restaurants.

Benefits :- charging GST for takeaways helps to create a level playing field for all restaurants. By charging the same tax rate on all takeaway orders, restaurants can compete fairly based on the quality of their food and service, rather than on their ability to avoid taxes.

Real Time Scenario :- Let us consider a real time business scenario in your restaurant you have to add GST in order type wise for example GST tax should be 5% in every order type.

Steps :-

I) First go to the Item Master : Inventory - Masters - Item Master.

II) Then create one item. While creating go the GST Details Tab and Select the Tax Based on as "Order Type/Table Master". Give all the required information and save it.

If you unable to find that option press ctrl and find Manage Tab Button. Enable this option by pressing space bar.

III) Now if you want to change all other items press ctrl and find Bulk Update option in the below function screen, click on it.

IV) Once the bulk update screen open you have to select "Order Type/Table Master" by replacing the "Item Master" option in "Tax Based on" option.

V) Once you complete the above step press "ctrl + C" for copy the value and then press enter, press "ctrl + shift + V" to paste the entire row. Finally save it. It will help you to update in bulk.

VI) Now our next step is to map the GST in Order type master like Take Away, Home Delivery Etc. So for that we need to go to Sales - Masters - Order Type Master.

VII) Select one Order type and Map the GST % as 5% and save it.

Please note :- If you unable to find the "GST Tax" option please find in the manage tab like previously you did.

VIII) For Dine in you need to apply the tax in table master only. So for that go to Sales - Masters - Table Master.

IX) Then Select a Table and select GST 5% in GST Tax .

Note : - For bulk update for the entire table please follow my previous step which I did for the Item master bulk update.
