RetailEasy on-cloud provides an effortless way to set item-specific and branch/location-specific taxes. Taxes can be set as default or altered while billing. Additional taxes like CST, VAT can also be set and removed in accordance with your requirement. All Taxes defined in the Tax screen are accessible from the Item Master screen for default tax setting.
How to Add Taxes?
Step 1: In the main tab of RetailEasy on-cloud, click on Masters > Tax.
Step 2: From the drop-down of Tax, select Tax to add VAT/CST/ Additional VAT.
Note: If the Tax option is not visible in the drop-down, refer to the next section How to set additional Taxes?
Step 3: In the Tax screen, click on Add Tax
Step 4: In the General section of the Create Tax screen, enter the Tax % and choose the Tax Type.
Note: C Form Type: C forms are applicable to taxes levied on interstate business transactions. For VAT/Additional VAT, the C Form type is set to Without C Form by default as VAT taxes are state-specific. For CST, the C Form Type can be set to With C Form/Without C Form, based on necessity.
Step 5: If the tax is presently valid, assign the Status as Active, else Inactive (from the drop-down). Click on Save.
Note: Taxes can be deleted or deactivated by assigning the Status as Inactive and can be restored by assigning the Status as Active.
Step 6: A message confirming the successful addition of the Tax appears.
How to set Additional taxes?
Step 1: In the main tab of RetailEasy on-cloud, click on Tools.
Step 2: Tools > Configuration > Business Configuration > Taxes section.
Step 3: From the Configurations section, choose Tax. Tick the check-boxes of the required taxes to enable them. Click on Save.
Step 4: In the Configurations section, choose Outward and search for Tax. From the drop-down of the Tax field, choose Allow to Edit option. Click on Save.
Note: You can either grant or deny access to edit Tax while billing, by selecting Allow to Edit or Not Allow to Edit, respectively.
RetailEasy on-cloud is flexible with setting varied Tax percents in practice. Taxes can be easily defined with respect to items or areas (both in the current branch and in other branches).
