How to add variants for items in ServQuick?

 

A Variant is a difference in quantity in which the item is sold or purchased. An item can have different variants. For example, Pizza can have three variants like Regular, Medium, and Large, based on the number of pieces it contains. Similarly, variants can be created for all items.

 

Benefits of using variants:

 

  • Item variants help in organizing the food item into different quantities

  • By using variants, customers get to choose the exact item quantity that they need

  • By choosing proper variants for the items, food wastage can be minimized

  • With item variants, customers can compare the different rates for each and decide their desired quantity

 

How to create variants?

 

Step 1:

 

In the home screen, go to Masters --> Menu --> Item.

 

 

Step 2:

 

Now, a list of all items is displayed. To add a new item variant, click on Add Item.

 

 

Step 3:

 

Enter all the details of the new item that you are going to create. To know more about how to create a new item, click here.

 

 

Step 4:

 

In the Pricing section, enter the variant name.

 

 

Step 5:

 

Enter the cost price and selling price of that particular variant.

 

Note: Cost price is the price at which the item is bought or prepared and selling price is the rate at which the restaurant will sell the item.

 

 

Step 6:

 

Enter the discount that you want to apply to that variant. If no discount is applicable, then you can leave it as 0.

 

Note: The discount rate that you are entering will be calculated in percentage or amount, based on the selection that you have made in the Sales section. Here a discount of 0% will be applied to the variants.

 

 

Step 7:

 

Enter the packing amount for that variant.

 

 

Step 8:

 

Enter the SKU number of that variant.

 

Note: SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is a unique number that tracks the stock for that particular variant. Each variant has a unique SKU number.

 

 

Step 9:

 

You can enable/disable the Apply for Online option based on your preference. If you want to display the variant type on the sales screen, then you can enable the Apply for Online option.

 

 

Step 10:

 

After entering all the details of the new item, click on save.

 

 

Step 11:

 

You will receive a success message once the item is saved along with its variants.

 

 

 

Thus we have created variants for a new item. We can create any number of variants for an item using ServQuick.
