How to configure Category tree structure in OrderEasy with RPOS 7?
With the increase in usage of e-commerce applications, customers expect a good user experience in the applications. In order to give the best user experience to the users of OrderEasy the categories can be structured in a tree structure to make the users get the best shopping experience from the app.
Follow the below steps to reflect the category tree structure in your app:
STEP1:
First, you should check the sequence of the categories you already have. The sequence maintained already in the POS can only be reflected in OrderEasy, the sequence cannot be changed.
Check by selecting Tools> Configuration>Category wise Configuration
Level 1: ProductType
Level 2: Sub-category
Level 3: Company
Step 2:
To map the parent category and maintain the tree structure enable a configuration in the POS
Go to POS->Tools->Configuration manager->Configuration->Show category based on hierarchy and parent category
STEP 3:
Based on how the categories should drill down in the app, now the customer has to map the parent-child categories in the POS
Go to POS -> Inventory -> Category -> Manage tabs -> enable parent code and click apply.
STEP 4:
Go to POS -> Inventory -> Category Master, load any existing category name for which you want to map the parent category.
For e.g., If you have Bake house (Level 1 - product) and Confectionery (Level 2 - sub category), then in order to do this mapping, you should first load the existing Confectionery category in the category master and in the parent code, select the Bake house. That means you are trying to map Bake house as a parent of Confectionery.
Bake house -> Confectionery
In the same way, if you want to map Balloons, Beverages categories under Confectionery, then follow the above steps and map the Confectionery as a parent to both Balloons and Beverages.
Bake house -> Confectionery -> Balloons
Bake house -> Confectionery -> Beverages
STEP 5:
For all these category changes to be reflected in the app, Enable the category tree structure configuration in the integration portal and manual sync i.e Reset Sync after which you need to sync categories and items manually. Once the sync is successful, you'll be able to see the updated categories in the app like below.
Hence in the app, you'll be able to see the tree structure drill down on clicking the Bake House category from the home page.
Items mapping
Load the existing item from the POS -> Inventory -> Item master, then edit the category details tab to map all the categories under which the item has to get mapped.
For e.g, if you want to map Balloon Big item to Bake house -> Confectionery -> Balloons then as shown below, map and save the item.
Do reset sync again for syncing the items, and check in the app. You'll be able to see the items in the app as below.
