How to create a Role in RetailEasy on-cloud?

Every Retail business involves people working in different roles to smoothly forward the business. This classification is important to define the responsibilities and the capacities of the employees. RetailEasy on-cloud lets you add employee Roles to your domain.

 

Benefits of creating Roles: 

Creating Roles in RetailEasy on-cloud helps in assigning the right menu access to the employees. You can select/deselect access to menus and even sub-menus and define fine lines of domain access hierarchy within your organization. It also helps you to choose which Roles can be given which User type (Node USer/Anywhere User/Non-USer)

 

How to create a Role?

Step 1: In the main tab of RetailEasy on-cloud, click on Tools > Configuration

 

Step 2: From the drop-down of the Configuration section, click on Security Configurations

 

Step 3: In the Role Master screen, click on Create Role

Step 4: The Add Role screen pops-up, fill in the fields and click on Save

 

Step 5: In the Add/Remove Menus screen, tick the check boxes of those menus that a user with the assigned role has access to

Note: Here, the menus necessary for a Billing Personnel are only enabled. Kindly ensure that you give the right menu access to the employees of the right designation, in order to retain the domain access hierarchy and prevent security breaches.

 

For example, if a user in the role of a Billing Personnel has access to Tools > Configurations > Security configurations, they have access to adding new users/modifying existing users, which might cause unnecessary trouble. 

 

Step 6: Click on the + corresponding to the left of each menu, to add/remove access to sub-menus. Click on a sub-menu to select/deselect the Function Keys of the sub-menu. Click on Save

 

Step 7: The Role has been added to the domain and can now be assigned to new Users. The Permissions granted to the Role can be modified by clicking on the Modify link corresponding to the Role

 

Any number of Roles can be created by repeating the steps from 3 to 6. The Roles can be conveniently assigned from the drop-down of the Role field, when a New Employee is added to the domain.
