Tax Area feature allows a RetailEasy on-cloud (TruePOS) user to add locations for which taxes can be specified exclusively, depending on the branch's state or province.
Benefits of Tax Area:
Tax rates must abide by the tax norms of the location. A retailer with multiple outlets spread over a large geographic location cannot set default/uniform tax rates for all the outlets. The necessity to have location specific tax rates is fulfilled by creating Tax Areas and setting Areawise Tax Rates. In India, Tax Area is useful in distinguishing states as different tax areas to define SGST.
How to add Tax Areas?
Step 1: In the main tab of RetailEasy on-cloud, click on Masters > Tax.
Step 2: Tax > Tax Area (from the drop-down)
Step 3: In the Tax Area screen, click on Add Tax Area.
Step 4: In the General section, enter the Name of the Tax Area. If the Tax Area is presently valid, the Status can be assigned as Active, else Inactive. Click on Save.
Note: For SGST, Indian state names are the Tax areas. For VAT in the UK, the Name of the Tax Area can be London, Derby, etc. To delete or deactivate the Tax Area, assign the Status as Inactive. To restore the Tax Area, change the Status back to Active.
Step 5: A confirmatory message will appear indicating that the Tax Area has been created.
Thus, RetailEasy on-cloud lets you create Tax Areas to set location-specific taxes, conveniently.
