How to do a bulk update using Item Migration in ServQuick?

Bulk item update is done when more number of items or categories are to be updated with respect to market in your business/store. For example; if there are 500 items to be entered, it is difficult to enter all the items one by one. In such cases, you can use Bulk Item migration to add multiple numbers of items/records at once.

If there are any changes coming in the market with respect to tax, you don't have to stress out that it will take more time. Instead, you can just change it quickly using bulk updates. You can invest this time in developing your business, building customer relationships, and improving business performance. Also, you can do Bulk importing for Items, Modifiers, Stock, Customers, and Suppliers

 

Steps to do a bulk update using Item Migration in ServQuick

 

Step1: Under Master option > Go to Item

 

  

Step2: Click on the Export option and select Item modifier from the drop-down. If you want to update Tax for bulk items, then you can choose the Item-Tax option. It is also available for Item-GST bulk update

 

 

--> A .csv format template named master item migration will be downloaded automatically.

 

Step3: Enter the details for the items for which you are going to do a bulk update. For eg: If you want to bulk update items from the sandwiches category to the veg and nonveg sandwich categories, you can change the category name for the desired items


 

--> Save the template in the same format (.csv) and click on close.

 

Step4: Go to the Items option and select Import 

 

 

Step5: Browse the updated template file and click on Upload

 

 

 

--> A pop-up will display the updated import status.

 

-->If you use any special characters in the template or if the date entered is not correct, it will show an error in the import status. For example, if you give are entering an item name and by mistake '?' is also added, then an error will show in importing.

 

Note: If any error shows in the status, you can download the file with error descriptions and change the errors. Then you can import the file again.

 

After all these steps, you can go to the sales option and check if the bulk items that you have migrated are updated. Using this feature, you can make bulk changes by spending only a little time in front of your system!
