Purpose: Kitchen display screen are digital order viewing screen that manages the customer orders , to process the incoming orders in the kitchen using the KDS feature. It helps the restaurants to organize , prioritize and track the orders.

Real Time scenario: Once the order were placed , KDS user will be notified about the item present in the order, once the item were prepared it will allow the KDS user to change the item status as prepared , dispatched and completed. waiter will check the KDS screen and delivery the order.

For Example: If the customer orders the cold coffee- 1 qty  in the Table no:7,After order taken ,The respective order will be displayed in the KDS Screen on the Table order in the new order-KDS user will notify and start preparing it once the item has been prepared change the status to ready and waiter will serve the item to respective table no:7.

Whenever the order received , The status can be changed to below following list

1.Pending

2.Preparing

3.Dispacted or Ready

4.Completed

Step 1:Kds user need to be created

(Go to Settings->user and permission->user->Add user->Create the KDS user with respective role called "KDS".

Note: In the Role option called kds will be enabled only for the purchased user.

Step 2:For the Respective KDS user , Check whether in the menu permission KDS is enabled.

Step 3:Once the order were placed , The KDS kitchen will display the order details based on the table order and sales bill.

By clicking on the respective order type ->order details will be displayed.

In The KDS Screen These following filter refers to 

1.New order refers the status called number of "Pending"-Red color

2.Processed refers the status called number of "Preparing"-Yellow color

3.Ready refers the status called  Number of "Dispatched"-Green color

4.Served refers the status called number of "Completed"-

Step 4:Once the order received , It will be under the New order status as "Pending"-The Red color indicates the order were in pending.

Note: We can update the status for particular item in the order once prepared , The item will also indicates the color based on pending , preparing , ready and completed.

Step 5:Once the item were prepared in the kitchen , By clicking on the item change the status to "Prepared"

The yellow color indicates that Order has been Prepared

Step 6:Once the food were prepared , need to change the status to be Ready-The Green color indicates Food is Ready

In the Right corner ,Item status will list out the current item wise status.

For Example: Both the Bill no:17 & 19 has the same cold coffee item 1 quantity in each bill , In the item status Total number of cold coffee will be shown.

Item name : Cold coffee-  quantity has 2 will be shown

Step 7:Finally , By clicking on the order ,It will be moved to status called "Served"

Once the order were completed-Finally after serving the orders- All the orders will be listed under the filter called Served

Reports to be referred: Go to Reports->KOT ->KOT bill wise summary.
