Loyalty Rule

Loyalty Rule

Purpose:

Loyalty programs are a proven method for customer retention in retail. TruePOS provides a simple yet effective loyalty management feature that allows businesses to reward customers with points based on their purchases. These points can be redeemed once they reach a threshold defined by the business owner. The owner has full control over the redemption timeline and point thresholds.

Loyalty management in TruePOS involves three main steps:

  1. Setting Loyalty Rules.

  2. Mapping Loyalty to Customers.

  3. Viewing and Redeeming Loyalty Points.

Prerequisite: Enabling Loyalty

Before setting up loyalty rules, ensure that loyalty is enabled in your system:

  1. Navigate to Master > More > Tools > Master Configuration.

  2. Under the Customer section, select the Enable Loyalty attribute.

  1. Set the following options based on your requirement:

    • Mandatory: Makes loyalty a required field.

    • Visible: Displays loyalty settings to users.

    • Default Value: Set a default value if needed.

  1. Click Save.

Step 1: Setting Loyalty Rules

TruePOS allows businesses to define multiple loyalty rules. Follow these steps to set up a new loyalty rule:

  1. Go to Master > Customer > Loyalty Rules.

  2. The Loyalty screen displays all existing loyalty rules.

  3. To create a new rule, click New Loyalty.

  1. The new loyalty rule setup consists of two tabs:

General Tab:
  • Name: Enter a name for the loyalty program.

  • Effective From and Effective To: Set the validity period for the rule.

  • Round Off:

    • Select Yes to round loyalty points to whole numbers (e.g., 1.9 becomes 1).

    • Select No to use the exact value.

  • Note: If set to Yes, values like 1.9 and 1.1 will both round off to 1.

  • Minimum Redeem Point: Specify the minimum points required for redemption.

  • Amount Per Point: Define the monetary value of each loyalty point.

  • Minimum Redeem Days: Set the number of days after earning points before they can be redeemed.

Rules Tab:

  • Start Amount: Specify the minimum purchase amount to start earning points.

  • End Amount: Define the upper limit for the purchase amount.

  • Point Basis Amount: Enter the amount used to calculate loyalty points.

  • Earn Point: Define the number of points earned for the specified amount. For example, if 100 is the point basis and Earn Point is 1, customers earn 1 point for every 100 spent.

  • Use the + button to add more rules or X to delete rules.

  1. Click Save to finalize the loyalty rule.

Step 2: Enabling Loyalty for Customers

To enable loyalty for specific customers:

  1. Navigate to Master > Customer.

  2. Select the customer and go to the Others Tab.

  3. In the Enable Loyalty field, choose Yes to enable loyalty for the customer.

Step 3: Viewing and Redeeming Loyalty Points

Earned loyalty points can be viewed and redeemed during billing:
