OTP Validation-Loyal Redemption

Purpose: This confirmation allows you to send a confirmation OTP to the customer for whom you are redeeming the loyalty. Till the time customer will not provide OTP, software will not allow the billing person to proceed the redemption process.

 

Benefit: The major benefit of using this option is that only the customer (who earned loyalty benefit) can redeem it. This can help you to prevent the misuse of loyalty benefits.

 

Real Time Scenario: Suppose you are the supermarket owner & your billing person/operators are misusing the loyalty benefits made for the customer. They are just redeeming loyalty on the behalf of the customer.

Also, it can also happen when the operator/user weren't willing to redeem the loyalty benefits of anyone but it has happened by mistake so the validation of OTP can help them.

 

So to restrict this misuse, you can use this configuration:

 

Pre-requisite: To avail this benefit, customer should have a custom license.

 

Step1: Go to Tools > Configuration Manager > Configuration.



Step2: Now type 'Loyalty' in the search box.

 

Step3: Select the configuration of 'OTP is mandatory to redeem loyalty & place a check mark beside that.

 

Step4: Then click on 'Save'.



Info: In addition to the above mentioned configurations, you can also use 'Minimum Value of OTP Based Loyalty Redeem', which can be used in this case that only for the some specific amount or greater than this you want OTP from the customer then place a mark on it & save.

Conclusion: To check its effect:

 

Step1: Go to Sale > Bill Entry

Step2: Now create one bill & select the Tender as 'Loyalty Redemption'.

 

Step3: Then select the option of 'Generate OTP'.

  

 Step4: Mention the OTP & click on 'OK'.


This is how you can enable this configuration & save yourself from any misuse with Loyalty benefits.

Q.1 On which Contact number customer will get OTP for validation?
Ans: It will be received on the number mentioned in the Customer Master.

Q.2 Is there any alternate way of receiving the OTP  i.e. on mail Id?
Ans: No, It will be only for Mobile number as of now.
