Steps to follow in Item Master Configuration to create a weighable item for bar-code generation

The Item Master is configured based on the followings:
  • Weight - Based on the weight of the items.
  • Count - Based on the quantity/count of the items.
Steps for Item Master Configuration (Based on the Weight)
  1. Click Inventory -> Masters -> Item Master or press CTRL + I. The Item Master screen will pop-up.



  2. In the Stock Information section:
    • In the Item Name field, enter the Item Name. For example - Tomato.
    • In the Short Name field, enter the short name of Item Name.
    • In the Alias field, enter the alias number for frequent billing items. For example - 1.
    • In the MRF NAME (manufacturer name) field, press F2. The list of manufacturer name is displayed, select the manufacturer name. For example - Tomato is a natural product so select N/A.
    • In the Supplier Name field, press F2. The Distributor Details pop-up screen is displayed, select the distributor name.
  3. In the Other Details section:
    • In the Is weighable field, press F2. A list of the following options are displayed
      • Yes - Select yes for weighable items. Select Yes.
      • No - Select no for non-weighable items
    • In the Sell By Weight or By Units field, press F2. A list of the following options are displayed
      • By Weight - Select by weight for weighable items. Select By Weight.
      • By Unit - Select by the unit for countable or unit items
  4. Click Save or press F6 to save the changes.
  5. A message Do you wish to save is displayed. Click Yes.



  6. A message Please Note the Code <<Code Number>> is displayed. Click OK.



Note: Please follow the same steps for Countable Items. Except, in the Sell By Weight or By Units field, select By Units.
