Tax Slab

Purpose: The Tax Slab feature in TruePOS enables users to apply different GST tax percentages to items based on their selling price ranges. This document provides a step-by-step guide for creating, mapping, and verifying Tax Slabs in purchase and sales transactions.


Process Overview  

  1. Create the Tax Slab

  2. Map the Tax Slab to an Item

  3. Verify Tax Slab in the Purchase Screen

  4. Verify Tax Slab in the Sales Screen



1. Creating the Tax Slab  

Step 1: Navigate to Tax Slab Creation  

  • Go to Master > Item > Tax Slab.

 

 

Step 2: Add a New Tax Slab  

  • Click on the New Tax Slab button.

 

 

Step 3: Enter Tax Slab Details  

  1. Enter the Tax Slab Name.

  2. Define the Range by specifying "From Amount" and "To Amount."

  3. Select the applicable GST Tax Percentage.

  4. Click the + symbol to add additional ranges, if required.

 

 

Step 4: Save the Tax Slab  

  • Click on the Save button.

  • A confirmation message, "Tax slab has been updated successfully," will appear.

 

 

2. Mapping the Tax Slab to an Item  

Step 5: Navigate to Item Settings  

  • Go to Master > Item > Item.

 

 

Step 6: Assign Tax Slab to an Item  

  1. Create a new item or edit an existing one.

  2. In the GST Tab, select the applicable Tax Slab from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click on the Save button to apply changes.

 

 

3. Verifying the Tax Slab in the Purchase Screen  

Step 7: Check Tax Application in Purchase Invoice  

  1. Go to Purchase > Purchase Invoice.

  2. Example scenarios:

    • For the item Shoe, if the selling price is within the range of 0 to 1000, the GST tax percentage is automatically applied as 5%.

    • For the item Cloth, if the selling price is within the range of 100 to 5000, the GST tax percentage is automatically applied as 12%.

 

 

4. Verifying the Tax Slab in the Sales Screen  

Step 8: Check Tax Application in Sales Bill  

  1. Go to Sales > Sales Bill.

  2. Example scenarios:

    • For the item Shoe, if the selling price is within the range of 0 to 1000, the GST tax percentage is automatically applied as 5%.

    • For the item Cloth, if the selling price is within the range of 100 to 5000, the GST tax percentage is automatically applied as 12%.

  • Yes, you can define multiple ranges by using the + symbol during Tax Slab creation.
