Purpose

The WhatsApp Meta integration with Gofrugal enables businesses to send real-time transactional and promotional messages directly to customers. This integration ensures secure, official communication through Meta’s verified business API, replacing traditional SMS with a modern, trackable, and interactive messaging platform.

By registering through Gofrugal Alerts, businesses can automate messaging for sales bills, order updates, and marketing campaigns with the same ease as SMS, but with the rich media capabilities of WhatsApp.

1. Account Manager (AM) Responsibilities

  • Ensure the WhatsApp Business Cloud Integration license is procured via the SAM portal.
  • Verify and activate the Digital Invoice license (provided free of charge for active paying customers).
  • Log in to the customer’s Gofrugal Alert account to confirm both licenses are successfully synced and active before handing over to the technical team.
  • Educate the customer for WhatsApp message costing to Meta’s verified API for better engagement and tracking.


2. Product Consultant (PC) 

  • For HQ-based customers, coordinate with the CST team to ensure the Digital Invoice license is enabled across all individual outlets.
  • Assist the customer in downloading the latest configurations within the Gofrugal POS and TACC services for linking them to the Alert Portal.
  • Guide the customer in mapping specific business triggers (Sales Bills, Stock Alerts, Order Updates) to the approved WhatsApp templates.



3. Customer Responsibilities

  • Create and manage the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) through the guided setup and link it to the official Facebook Business Page.
  • Draft and submit message templates (e.g., Sales Bill, Marketing alerts) to Meta for approval.

Note: Approval typically takes between a few minutes to a few hours.

  • Manage Opt-outs to remain compliant with messaging regulations.
  • Monitor delivery and read status via WhatsApp Delivery reports within the POS to optimize communication impact.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Can I send marketing offers through this integration?

Yes. You can use Marketing templates for promotions, though these incur a higher per-message cost from Meta compared to Utility messages.

What happens if I exhaust my message pack?

You can top up your balance by purchasing a new Message Pack SKU (10K, 50K, or 100K) through the SAM portal at any time.

Is a credit card mandatory?

Yes. Meta requires a valid credit card linked to your WhatsApp Business Manager to settle the per-message consumption charges. Also enable international transaction option in credit card.
