How to configure & use the Promo Codes feature in OrderEasy?

How to offer discounts to every customer using Promo Codes feature in OrderEasy?

In the current market scenario, big E-commerce firms like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal etc., are using promo codes to draw more customers to their websites and increase their sales. Now you can also use this promo codes feature in your OrderEasy application to increase the sales.

Promo codes are unique codes (a mixture of letters and numbers) used by sellers to promote the sales of a particular product/brand or overall sales of their store. In order to use the promo codes in the OrderEasy application the codes must be created in the integration portal.

Let us now see how to create the promo codes in the portal :

Step : 1
Login to OrderEasy portal with admin credentials.
Go to Offer Management --> Promo Codes tab.

Step : 2
You can use the "Create New" option to create a new promo code that you want to display in your branded app.

Step : 3
Once you click on the 'Create New' option you will be able to see a new screen where you can specify the
a) Coupon Category:

i) Order amount -> The discount will be applicable based on the total cart value.
ii) Item-wise -> The discount will be applicable based on the items mapped under this coupon type.
For example: If you choose item-wise as a coupon category and map items such as "MAGGIE NOODLES 1PC, PARLE FABIO BISCUT 120G" in that. If a buyer selects "MAGGIE NOODLES 1PC" (or) "PARLE FABIO BISCUT 120G" to the cart and applies this promo code, the discount amount will be deducted from the cart value.

iii) Category-wise -> The discount will be applicable based on the Categories mapped under this coupon type.
For example: If you choose Category-wise as a coupon category and map categories such as "GIFT and GROCERIES" to it. If a buyer adds anyone of the items under anyone of the categories and applies this promo code, the discount amount will be deducted from the cart value.

Note : *To avail any of this promo code, the total cart value should be above the "Min. Order Amount" given*

b) Coupon Name: The name of the coupon defines the discount / offers applied.

c) Coupon Code: The coupon code is a mixture of unique letters, numbers and symbols created by you based on your reference. Your customer should use this unique code in the same format to avail the discount for this promo code.
For example: If you a create a promo code with the coupon code "WINTER2022" and your customer applies it as "Winter2022" (or) "WINTER 2022" (or) "WINTER2032" or "WINTER_2022" , it will show an error message to your customer "Invalid coupon code, Try different coupon".

d) Banner Image - You can add an image as a banner which will act as a visual representation of your discount.

e) Min. Order Amount - Here you can the set the minimum order value for the promo code to which you are providing the discount.
For Example: If you set the minimum order amount as 100 rupees. If your customer' cart value doesn't add up to 100 rupees the promo code will not be applicable. Your customer will get "Invalid coupon code. Try different coupon." error message.

f) Coupons Type - As you are configuring for the manual promo code we need to select the "App Promo code".

g) Coupon Calculation - You can either select Fixed or Percentage.
If you select 'Fixed' in the coupon calculation type and set the 'discount value' at 50 rupees. A Fixed amount of 50 rupees will be applied as a discount based on the coupon category.
If you select 'Percentage' in the coupon calculation type and set the 'discount value' as 50 percentage. 50% of order amount or Item value or Category value will be discounted. You can also set the discount limit to this based on your preference.

h) Coupon calculation type: Here you can configure how the "Discount Value" should be calculated. It can be either a "Fixed Amount" or "Percentage".
Fixed - The fixed amount given in the "Discount value" will be deducted based on the coupon category.
For example : If you set the Fixed amount as 50 rupees. Considering the total amount as 500 rupees
The discounted value = Total order amount - 50 rupees = 500 - 50 = 450 rupees
Percentage - A percentage of the total order amount will be deducted as a discount from the total order amount.
For Example: If you set the percentage as 50 and the 'discount limit' as 80 rupees. Considering the Total order amount as 500 rupees.
The discounted value = 50% of the Total order amount = 50% of (500) = 250 rupees.
But the discount limit is 80 rupees. So the actual discount will be 80 rupees only. Finally, the amount payable by the customer will be 500 (Total order amount)  - 80 (discounted value) = 420 rupees.

Step: 4
            Also, you can set the
i) Start date & End date - You can set the number of days that a particular discount will be applicable.

j) No. of Customers That Can Use This & Number of times they can use - Here you set how many times this particular promo code can be applied and you can also set 'No of times a single customer Can Use' this particular promo code. When a customer applies this promo code, the promo code count will reduce so you can keep a track of the number of times this particular discount has been applied.
For example: If you set the 'No. of Customers That Can Use This' as 100 and the 'No of times a single customer Can Us' as 10. If a customer applies this promo code for a single time, the No of customers That Can Use This becomes 99. If the same customer applies the promo code for the second time to another order the "No of Customers That Can Use This " promo code becomes 98. I keep on reducing every time when a customer uses this promo code until it becomes 'zero'. After that, if a customer tries to apply this promo code they will receive an "Invalid coupon code, Try different coupon" error message.

Step : 5
You can even send push notifications to a customer's app by using the "Notify" option. By clicking the notify option you can set a title and description and send the same to either all customers or specific customers by entering their mobile numbers as shown below in the images.

Step: 6
Once the promo codes are set up. You can see the promo codes listed on the Promo codes screen. Now, you can use the "STATUS" option to show/hide the promo code in the app. Also you can drag and arrange the list of promo codes based on this order, promo codes will be displayed in your app.

Step : 7
Once the promo codes are set up in the portal, your customers can view the promo code screen in the "Offers" tab in your branded mobile app and the same can be availed in the cart screen by selecting the "Apply Offer" option.
