INACTIVATION OF CALAMITY CESS :
What is Calamity cess?
In accordance to Kerala flood, The government has decided to impose calamity cess to help the flood-affected people for reconstruction, rehabilitation and compensation. The state government will not levy cess on daily items that draw 5% total GST. All other goods and services which draw 6, 9 and 14% SGST will be charged 1% cess.
This one per cent flood cess that is being collected from people for a year-and-a-half on purchase of products will be stopped from August 1 2021. An announcement in this regard is made on the budget presented by Finance Minister Thomas Isaac.
As per the government regulation from August 1, calamity cess should not be collected. To achieve this in the simplest way, please follow the below steps.
Steps To Inactive the Calamity CESS
1.Go to Tools --> More --> Add on services
Click on edit and choose the calamity Applicable as "No".
2:You will get a message as " Company details uploaded successfully".
3.Go to Tools --> More --> Master configuration-> Edit the branch and search with calamity Enable the calamity applicable in visible column.
4.Go to Master --> Branch --> Branch
Edit the Branch and choose calamity Applicable as "No".
5 :You will get a message as "successfully updated".

6. After inactivating the calamity cess as "No" :
