Introduction to Master Configuration
TruePOS provides certain default fields essential for the retail industry. Additionally, TruePOS offers extra fields beneficial for different verticals and businesses. Based on your business requirements, you can determine which fields should be present in the Masters and which are unnecessary. This control is available in the Master Configuration menu.
Using the Master Configuration screen, you can show or hide fields that appear in the Master menu screens, such as Item, Customer, Supplier, and Branch, according to your business needs.
Menu Access: Click Master > More > Tools > Master Configuration
Functions Performed in Master Configuration
1) Enable or Disable an attribute in a master screen
Steps:
Specify the name of the master screen in the Search Master field (e.g., Item Master).
Click Edit to view the attributes of the corresponding screen.
To enable an attribute or field from the Item Master screen, mark the checkbox under the Visible column.
To hide an attribute from the Item Master screen, clear the selected checkbox under the Visible column.
Example: If you want to enable the Category column, refer to the screenshot below.
2) Search a Field or Attribute
In the Search Attributes field, type the field name you want to find and edit.
3) Rearrange the Order of an Attribute Within the Master Screen
Steps:
Move the mouse pointer to the left corner of the attribute.
Drag and drop the attribute in the desired order within the same tab or group.
4) Set Default Values for an Attribute
On the field, specify or select the default values in the Default Value column for the attributes. This ensures that default values appear while creating an Item, Customer, Supplier, etc.
5) Marking Fields as Mandatory
Mark the checkbox under the Mandatory column against the required field.
To remove the mandatory requirement, uncheck the checkbox.
6) Change the Field Name
Steps:
Double-click on the field name or attribute.
Edit the name by providing the desired label.
Click anywhere outside the field to save the changes.
Saving Changes
After making the required changes in Master Configuration, click Save to update the settings. Log out of TruePOS and log in again to see the changes reflected in the corresponding Master screens.
7) Revert the Attribute name
Click the Revert Caption button to reset the attribute name to its original value. To see the updated changes reflected across the relevant Master screens, log out of TruePOS and log in again.
