Intro on Promotion management 

Your Consumers are always looking for ways to save money, and they prefer to buy from stores that offer the best deals. One thing you can do to attract more customers is to introduce variety of offers on your products or services. Offers are not only beneficial to your customers; they can also do great things for your business.

TruePOS allows you define offers and discounts for sales promotions in addition to the standard sales functions. You can define offers and special rates for specific Customer Category, seasons or days according to items sales quantity or sales amount.

Before using Promotion Management options, send a mail to truepos-support@gofrugal.com to enable the promotion related configurations.

* In TruePOS we will support only Period, Happy Days, Happy Hours and Other additional categories will be support only in Mobile Applications.




Process involved in Creating an offer


Step 1 : Go To Master -> Promotion -> Promotion management 

Step 2 : Fill up the below details

* Offer Name - Give a exciting name for your offer

* Offer Family - Press Enter Button in the offer family box and a pop up containing different offers will be listed.

2) Bill offer - Disc amount - Buy for a RANGE OF BILL AMOUNT AND GET N amount OFFER ON BILL AMOUNT - Same as the (1), instead of Disc %, you can provide Disc amount.

3) Bill offer - Free - PURCHASE For A RANGE OF BILL AMOUNT AND GET X ITEM FREE -  Refer the link click here to learn

Allow Offer span - Select the Allow Offer Span check box to apply the offer on the cumulative quantities to.

For example: Consider the Offer 'Buy 2 and Get 1 Free',
If the Allow Offer Span is selected,
TruePOS will allow to offer in multiples like Buy 2 Get 1, Buy 4 Get 2, Buy 6 Get 3... etc.
If the Allow Offer Span is cleared,
TruePOS will allow to offer quantity as '1' irrespective of the buying quantity

* Filter - In the left panel, Specify the any of the Filters that qualifies the offers:
  • Period - To restrict the offer by date, select Period check box and then specify the From Date and To Date in DD-MM-YYYY format. Example : Summer offer which applies for April and May month 
  • Happy Days - To restrict the offer by days, select Happy Days check box and then select the days in the grid. Example : Offer applies only on Saturday and Sunday where crowd will be huge
  • Happy Hours - To restrict the offer by hours, select Happy Hours [24:00] check box and then specify the From time and To Time in HH:MM format. Example : Offer applies only on evening times, when it is the shopping time.
  • First N Customers - To restrict the offer by first few Customer, select First N Customers check box and then specify the number of customer. Example : Offer applies to only First 10 customers exclusively
  • Customer Type - To restrict the offer by Customer Category, select Customer Type check box and then select the customer Type to whom the offer need to applied. Example : Offer applies only for customers belonging to VIP customer category
Step 3 : Click on Save button to save the changes. 
Step 4 : The Offer mapping pop up will open. Map the branch or location for which the offer need to be applied. The confirm while billing can be marked, if you wish to confirm once before applying the offer in sale bill. Click on save button.

FAQ :

1) Is it possible to edit and change the Offer family? 

 One of the limitations in editing an offer family is, Offer family once selected cannot be changed. If you want to edit and change to any other offer family, you have to create a new offer against the offer family. 

2) How to Edit an Offer ?

 In the Promotion management screen, press F4 and the load the offer which needs to be edited

3) How to view a previously created offer?

In the Promotion management screen, Press F7 and load the offer which you need to view. 

4) How to Disable/ Enable an offer for selected locations?

Load the offer in edit mode. Press F11 and the offer map pop up window will appear. Set the offer status as inactive to disable the offer to the locations.

5) Can multiple offers be applied for single item?

Yes, You can apply multiple offers for single item. Go To Tools -> Configuration -> Business configuration -> Search for the configuration "Restrict multiple offers on single item" and disable it and save the changes. 

6) How to restrict Multiple offers for single item in sales screen. 


Goto >> tools >> configuration >> Business configuration >> Enable "Restrict multiple offers on single item", Once enabled reload the sales screen and check, while apply multiple offer validation message will popup stating "multiple offer for same items is restricted"

6) What needs to be checked if the “Confirm Billing” option for offers is not working?

A : Check whether the item or bill qualifies for multiple offers. If more than one offer is applicable, the system will display an offer selection pop-up during billing, even if the Confirm Billing option is disabled for any one offer. This is expected behaviour to allow the user to choose the correct offer. 

--> If the item or bill meets only one offer and satisfies only one offer criteria, the system will auto-apply the offer while saving the invoice, provided “Confirm Billing” is disabled for that offer.
