Purpose :Repacking refers to the process of converting bulk packages into smaller units (e.g., packing sugar from a 100kg bag into smaller packets such as 1kg, 500g, 100g, etc.), based on customer demand. This process is commonly used in supermarkets.
Steps to Create Bulk item in the Item Master Screen
Kindly go to Master → Item → Item → Click on "Add Item"
Under the Packing tab,
In the 'Preparation Status' kindly select bulk
In the Repack Conversion field, enter the weight of the bulk item in grams.
Steps to Create Repack item in the Item Master Screen,
Kindly go to Master → Item → Item → Create a New item
Under the Packing tab,
In the 'Preparation Status' field, kindly select Repack
In the Repack Conversion field, enter the weight of the repack item in grams
3. If you select the Preparation Status as Repack, a new tab will be enable as 'Bulk Item Mapping' and in the select the bulk item for the current repack item.
Steps to do Repacking :
1.Once the Bulk and Repack items are created, you can proceed with the repacking process.
Menu Access : Go to 'Inventory -> More -> Repack'
2. Select the "Location" from the Dropdown and click on "Add Repack"
3. Fill in Repack Details
In the Repack Entry screen, fill out the required details and click Save.
Location- Through the Drop down You can select the location.
Bulk Item - In the Bulk item field , Press Enter to select the bulk item from the LOV
The Current stock field, shows the stock quantity of the bulk item in the inventory.
In the QTY taken field, enter the quantity of the Bulk item which is to be packed into smaller units.
In the Conversion loss field, enter the conversion loss in KG. For example: 1000 gms of rice, if repacked into smaller packets of 300 grams(that is 300*3=900) will have a conversion loss of 100gms.This loss can be compensated by creating another repack item of 100gms.
In the Item Code number field, press ENTER to select the repack item from the LOV.
The Item Name field is a read only field and displays the name of the repack item.
In the Quantity field, enter the quantity of the repack item.
In the Sell price, MRP field verify and edit the price of the repack item.
Click on "Add" to add the repack item and Save it.
4. After saving the 'Repack Item' click on 'View' under the Action column
5.Now you can able to see the 'Print' and click on Print.
6. Else you can go to the path 'Inventory --> Barcode Printing'.
7. Press enter from 'Item Code' and select the respective 'Repack Item'
8. After selecting the item, enter the 'Print Qty' of how many barcode stickers to be print and press 'Add' and then click 'Print'.
Note : The Print Qty should not be greater than the available qty.
FAQ'S
Q1: What happens if I try to print more barcode labels than available quantity?
You will receive an error. The Print Quantity must not exceed the Available Quantity of the item in stock.
Q2: What is Conversion Loss in repacking?
Conversion loss refers to the quantity lost during repacking.
Example: If 1000g of a bulk item is repacked into 3 packs of 300g (900g total), there is a conversion loss of 100g.
This can be tracked or compensated by creating another repack item of 100g.
Q3: Can repack item quantity taken in decimal?
Answer - Yes, repack item can be provided in decimal qty.
Q4: How to revert the repacked item and bulk item which was repacked by mistake?
Answer - Only way to revert the repack process to do stock update for the repack item and bulk item. Refer the help document for stock update.
Q5: Can we edit an already repacked item?
Answer - No it is not possible to edit an already repacked items. Edit option is not available for repack. You can add new repack items, not modify existing repacked items.
Q6: Can we do repack branchwise?
Answer - Yes, in the repack menu top right corner, We have the option to select the branch location from the dropdown.
Q7: Where should we check If the created Bulk Item is not shown in the Repack screen?
Answer - Check if the preparation status is mapped as "Bulk" correctly for the bulk item in Item master.
Q8: Getting error "Data not available for repacking" while loading the bulk item in repack menu?
Answer - This error will appear if there is no stock for Bulk item. Import the stock for bulk item via Purchase or opening stock entry.
Q9) Where should we check if the repack item is not shown in the Repack screen?
