Do you know how to setup products for KIT Management (Many products repacked into one)?

What is a KIT Item?

A KIT item is an individual item comprising various components. With this, you can combine multiple products and make a single combo or gift pack and sell them. When the season ends, you can unpack the inside items and sell them as individual items as well.

 

Benefits:

A KIT item gives you the benefit of combining different items into a single pack for sales purposes. Suppose you want to make a Combo or a Diwali Gift Hamper where you will pack multiple items into one item and sell them from your store.

 

To create a KIT Item, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Go to Inventory > Masters > Items


Step 2: Give the name of the Item and select the Product Type field and press F2. The Product Type Details LOV will pop up.
Step 3: Select the KIT type from the list.


Step 4: Put all the details, click on F6 Save button to save.

(Note: Key settings may vary from user to user, you can click on the blank button just beside F1 Key to change the key combinations to find the desired key)

 

To Configure the KIT item, do the following steps:

Step 1: Go to Inventory > Masters > Assembly / KIT Config

 

Step 2: Click on the Type drop down and select the KIT from the list.

 

Step 3: Press Enter and select the Assembly/KIT Product from the list.

Step 4: Put the desired KIT Config Qty you want.

Step 5: Then click on Code field and press Enter Button to bring up the Product list LOV.

Step 6: Select the items you want from the list.

 

Step 7: Fill up all the items and put the Qty also as required.

Step 8: Then click on F6 Save to save the settings.

(Note: Key settings may vary from user to user, you can click on the blank button just beside F1 Key to change the key combinations to find the desired key)


Step 9: Click on OK to complete the set-up.

 

Conclusion:

We can consider the KIT preparation process as a Short Production where we combine multiple items and make a new item out of them. The best example is the Dry Fruit Gift Packs, we prepare in Diwali time and unpack them after Diwali and sell the items individually.
