How to archive a data base?
Archive Data screen is used to move all the transaction data to a new database. It allows you to move old data to archive data. The old data is broken in Quarter-wise (3 - months) and after completion, they are compressed to avoid performance issues. After completion of the Archive process, the data available in the new database has read-only permission, you can view the data but you will be not able to edit it.

Important Notes:
- Data once the move cannot be reverted back to the main database.
- Once data is archived, it will be available in the history database.
- For the Starter and Standard edition, it is available with a custom license only.
- Use the following SQL database based on the following data storage limit:
- SQL 2005 (Express edition) - upto 4 GB data
- SQL 2005 (Standard edition) - unlimited data
- SQL 2008 (Express edition) - upto 8 GB data
- SQL 2008 (Standard edition) - unlimited data
- It is not recommended to do a purge process in counters at peak business hours because when the purge process will start, the system would not be able to save the bills.
- For VSS customer Data Purge is not possible.
Limitations:
- For the Archive Data process, a minimum of 3 months of transaction data required is required.
- The Archive Transaction (Medishopdb (Production Live Data)) and Archive Audit (RposAuditDB) is available with Archive Data only but not available with Archive Trac (RposTracDb).
