How to make GRN for multi-serialised items in GoSure (RetailEasy7)?
Serialization is used to track inventory of individual items in inventory efficiently. However, there are some instances where an item is itself an assembly of multiple small sub items. In such cases, the concept of multi-serialization is used for tracking the inventory of sub items, at a granular level. To put it simply, multi-serialization builds parent-child relationships from item to its sub items.
Benefits of multi-serialisation in GoSure:
Multi-serialisation enables us to find out what is inside an item, by scanning the code on the outside and you don’t need to scan the barcodes of sub items inside an item.
Without multi-serialisation, the only way to identify individual sub items inside is by scanning each of their barcodes, which is impossible. Multi-serialisation will give you this information with a quick and simple scan of the outer barcode.
Making GRN for multi-serialised items in GRN:
The GRN for serialised items can me made in both web-app and mobile app.
(1) How to make GRN for multi-serialised items in GoSure web-app (RetailEasy7) ?
NOTE: For scanning multi-serialised barcodes in GRN, mention the 'Product Type' as 'Serialised' and specify the 'Serial fields' in RPOS.
Step 1: In the GRN module of GoSure Web-app, enter the supplier details, invoice details and select the serialised item from LOV.
Step 2: Fill the supplier details, invoice details and select multi-serialised item. Enable "Auto generate serial numbers" and enter the beginning of each serial in individual 'Serial' fields and the count in 'Item count' field. If the count is one, no need to enable the option "Auto generate serial numbers".
Step 3: Click on "Generate", to generate multi-serial barcodes. You can see the serial numbers beginning with the first serial number and the number of serial numbers generated will be equal to the quantity mentioned in the 'Item count' field.
Step 4: In the GoSure web-app screen, click on 'Submit' to submit the invoice.
(2) How to make GIN for multi-serialised items in GoSure mobile app (RetailEasy7) ?
Prerequisite: Enable "Allow Serial barcode generation from mobile" in the GoSure web-app
Step 1: In the 'GRN' module of GoSure mobile app, enter the supplier details and invoice details and click on 'Proceed'. Select the multi-serialised item and click on 'Start Scan'.
Step 2: After scanning the barcode of a chip in multi-serialised item once, you will not be able to scan it again and pop-up appears that the barcode already exists. Only after scanning the barcodes of all chips in multi-serialised item, the stock is considered. You can add remarks, by clicking on "Remarks" at the top of the screen and change the batch of the item by clicking on "Create new batch"
Step 3: You can view more details of scanned multi-serialised item like Available Stock, Stock, MRP, and Cost by clicking on "Swipe for details".You can add remarks in this screen also by clicking on "Remarks" at the bottom. Also, by clicking on the Stock, you can view the barcode of that scanned quantity and edit the barcode by selecting it or delete by clicking on the Trash button on the right.
Step 4: You can delete the scanned item, by swiping the item towards left of the screen and clicking on 'Delete' button. Finally, click on "Done" to submit the GIN.
ANNEXURE:
Auto number using prefix:
Benefit: If you want to assign prefix to the serial numbers, you can do so by enabling 'Auto number having prefix'.
Step 1: Enter the serial numbers in 'Prefix' and 'Serial' fields and mention the count in the 'Item count' field
Step 2: Click on 'Generate' and you can see the serial numbers beginning with our mentioned serial numbers and total serial numbers generated equal to the quantity mentioned in the 'Item count' field.
Note: We can make GRN for free serialised items in GoSure and also format serial number based on item count length by clicking on the respective check boxes.
Conclusion:
Using multi-serialised option in GoSure, waste is minimized, fraud is eliminated, and inventory transparency is achieved with complete visibility at items through every point. Thus, using this feature, companies can streamline processes, improve efficiency, and gain transparency into their supply chain.
