Discount Coupon Pattern Master – Overview
The Discount Coupon Pattern Master in GoFrugal HQ is used to define the serial number structure (pattern) for generated discount coupons.
This feature works in conjunction with the Discount Coupon Master and is applicable when the Coupon Type is “Generated.” It allows businesses to create structured coupon series using prefixes and serial ranges for controlled distribution.

Define Pattern Prefix for coupons
Establish structured serial numbering
Standardize coupon format across outlets
Enable range-based coupon assignment
Example:
If the Pattern Prefix is DISC24, the system can generate coupons like:
DISC240001, DISC240002, DISC240003, and so on.

Important Note
The Discount Coupon Pattern Master is only required for Generated coupon types. It is not required for Manual or Not Required coupon types.
How to Create a Discount Coupon Pattern Master
Follow the steps below:
Navigate to BPM > Customer Relationship Management > Discount Coupon Management > Discount Coupon Pattern Master.
Click the Add button.
To view available discount coupons, click on the Discount Coupon Name dropdown.
A list of configured Discount Coupon Masters will be displayed. Select the required Discount Coupon Name from the list to proceed with pattern configuration.
In the Value field, enter the required discount value for the selected coupon.
Note:
If the Discount Type is Amount, enter the value in rupees (e.g., 50 for ₹50).
If the Discount Type is Percentage, the value must be less than 100 (e.g., 10 for 10%).
Ensure the value entered aligns with the configured discount type.
The Need Validation field is read-only and indicates whether validation is required for the selected discount coupon.
Available options include:
Required – Validation is mandatory for the discount coupon.
Not Needed – Validation is not required for the discount coupon.
Note: If Required is selected, the following additional fields will be displayed:
Valid Upto – Specify the expiry date of the coupon.
No. of Days Valid – Define the number of days the coupon remains valid.
These fields help control coupon validity and prevent usage beyond the allowed period.
The displayed fields will vary depending on your selection under validation:
If you select Valid Up To, the Valid Up To field will appear. Choose the required expiry date.
If you select Number of Days Valid, the No. of Days Valid field will be displayed. Enter the required validity period in days.
Additional fields:
Total Length – Enter the total length of the discount coupon serial number (including prefix and numeric sequence).
Prefix – Enter the required prefix for the discount coupon serial number to define the coupon pattern structure.
Ensure the prefix and total length are configured correctly to maintain consistent and structured serial numbering.
In the Starting Series field, enter the starting numeric value for the discount coupon series (e.g., 0001 or 1001, as required).
In the Max. Value field, the system will automatically calculate and assign the maximum serial value based on the configured Total Length and Prefix of the discount coupon.
This ensures that the generated coupon numbers follow the defined pattern and length structure correctly.
Click the Save button to create the Discount Coupon Pattern Master.
A confirmation message will appear stating “Pattern master saved successfully.”
Note: After saving, the newly created Discount Coupon Pattern Master will be displayed on the screen for reference and further assignment.
