How to make GRN for Serialised items in GoSure (RetailEasy7)?


The inventory in retail outlets are managed by giving different SKUs for different products to distinguish from other products in the warehouse. This is because a single SKU given to an inventory can contain multiple items of the same inventory.

 

Serialization comes into play here as it involves tracking inventory on a granular level by giving each item an individual distinguishable serial number.

 

Benefits of serialization:


Serialization is generally used when items are more valuable. For example, laptops, smartphones, etc. In these cases, you need an inventory management software like Gofrugal, that supports the functionality of serial number tracking.

 

Making GRN for Serialised items in GRN: 

The GRN for serialised items can be made from both web app and mobile app applications.

 

(1) How to make GRN for Serialised items in GoSure web-app (RetailEasy7) ?

 

Note: For scanning serialised barcodes in GRN, mention the 'Product Type' as 'Serialised' in Item Master of RPOS.

 

 

Step 1: In the GRN module of GoSure Webapp, enter the supplier details, invoice details and select the serialised item from LOV.

 


Step 2: In the pop-up window enable 'Auto generate serial numbers'. Enter the first serial no in 'Serial1' field and enter the quantity in 'Item count'. If the count is one, no need to enable the option "Auto generate serial numbers".


Step 3: Click on 'Generate'. You can see the serial numbers beginning with the first serial number and the number of serial numbers generated will be equal to the quantity mentioned in the 'Item count' field.

Step 4: In the GoSure web-app screen. click on 'Submit' to submit the invoice. 

 

(2) How to make GIN for Serialised items in GoSure mobile app (RetailEasy7) ?

 

Prerequisite: Enable "Allow Serial barcode generation from mobile" in the GoSure web-app

 

 

Step 1: In the 'GRN' module of GoSure mobile app, enter the supplier details and invoice details and click on 'Proceed'. Select the serialised item and click on 'Start Scan'.

 


Step 2: After scanning the barcode of serialised item once, you will not be able to scan it again and pop-up appears that the barcode already exists. You can add remarks, by clicking on "Remarks" at the top of the screen and change the batch of the item by clicking on "Create new batch".

 


Step 3: You can view more details of scanned serialised item like Available Stock, Stock, MRP, and Cost by clicking on "Swipe for details".You can add remarks in this screen also by clicking on "Remarks" at the bottom. Also, by clicking on the Stock, you can view the barcode of that scanned quantity and edit the barcode by selecting it or delete by clicking on the Trash button on the right.

 

 

Step 4: You can delete the scanned item, by swiping the item towards left of the screen and clicking on 'Delete' button. Finally, click on "Done" to submit the GIN.

 

 

ANNEXURE:

 

Auto number using prefix:


Benefit: If you want to assign prefix to the serial numbers, you can do so by enabling "Auto number having prefix".

Step 1: Enter the serial numbers in 'Prefix' and 'Serial1' fields and mention the count in the 'Item count' field.


Step 2: Click on 'Generate' and you can see the serial numbers beginning with our mentioned serial numbers and total serial numbers generated equal to the quantity mentioned in the 'Item count' field.

  

 

We can also make GRN for multi serialised items and GRN for free serialised items by following similar steps. Also, we can format serial number based on item count length to append the serial number with zero before the first digit by enabling the appropriate checkbox

Conclusion: Serialised item support in GRN module of GoSure is to make serialised item entry for valuable gadgets or electronics by providing unique serial numbers for each item.
