Security Type- User Creation & Assigning Specific Roles to user in ServeEasy

Who are called as Security Type- Users?

The security type "USER" is typically used to refer to regular users of a system or application. These users typically have limited permissions and are not able to access sensitive data or systems.

What is the benefit of assigning specific Roles to the Users?

The major benefit is you will get a clear accountability of the your records, easy to track the individual performance, the chances of breach/ Misuse by the users will be reduced etc.

Business Scenario:

A Supermarket might have a role called "Sales Representative" that allow the particular user to access the customer relationship management (CRM) system and create new sales Invoices. This role would not allow users to access the company's financial systems or to manage the Inventory. So in this case we can only allot the 'Sales Based' role to the user.

Steps to create Security Type user & assigning role to them:


Click Tools > Security Controller > Security manager.
Click the 'Settings' button.
Click Security Type to open the Security Type screen.



  1. In the Security Based On section, select the ROLE option. 
  2. Click Update to update the security type.
  3. The Users Account Types screen is displayed.



  4. Click Add. The Add screen is displayed where you need to field the respective field
  5. Enter all the mandatory fields
  6. Click 'Save' to save the new user group.



  1. The created Group name is added in the List.



  2. Click the Users icon of the newly created group.
  3. The Add screen for the new User is displayed.



  4.  Click Add to add a new user.
  5. The Add new user screen is displayed.



  6. Enter all the mandatory fields.
  7. Click Save to add the User.
  8. The User Account Types screen is displayed.



  9. The User gets added to the Users Account Types.

  1. The Users Accounts Types screen is displayed.



  2. Click Menu Config, to display Menu Configure screen.



  3. Select the required menus for the users. Select the Select All button, to configure default settings.
  4. Click the Custom Settings button to configure the Custom Settings. To get more detail on custom setting, click Menu Configure Custom Settings
  5. Click Save to save the changes.
  6. The Users screen is displayed.



  7. Click the Menu Preview button to get the preview of main screen.
  8. The Menu Preview screen is displayed.



FAQ's. 
1. Can I Map two roles for one user?
Ans: No only one role can be mapped for one user.
