Difference between Feature and Issue
What is Pending Developer? (Support side)
Pending Developer has 2 sub-divisions known as
Issue
Feature
Issue:
This could be an existing problem/bug in the product that needs to be fixed by the Development Team. The fixing might probably be through new patch release.
Feature:
In this customer might request an additional feature (only specific to his business) or could bring to notice the market requirement (needed by many similar customers). Here, the support team will carry the request to the product development team. This requirement shall then be evaluated by the product manager, developer and the product consultant.
Based upon the category of the requirement, it could be released as a patch update without additional cost. If the requirement is specific to one particular customer, then costs apply—based on the time and effort needed to develop the feature. But in this case, the customer will have to be informed first and only with his consent for payment, the process begins.
It helps the customer to know about the issue and feature status. If the customer is facing any issues under the existing software, then this comes under Issue.
If the customer approaches with a specific requirement, which is not in the software, then the requirement is considered as a feature.
Benefits:
Provides customer with the information related to the issue/requirement that the developer is working on.
Step 1: Go to Issue. The tickets raised by the customer will be displayed with detailed information.
Step 2: Go to Feature. The specific requirement of the customer will be displayed with detailed information.
Conclusion:
