Weighing Scale Barcode

How to Configure Barcode Weighing Scale for Rpos7?

Introduction
The Weighing Scale Barcode in RPOS7 is a pre-billing system which generates a barcode for the items to be billed and simplifies the task at the billing counter. This is an all-in-one system which includes a weighing machine for weighing a pack of items and a printer that prints a barcode label for the weighed items from the machine. The printed label bears the details like Barcode, Weight and Rate of the items. The barcode label is then pasted on the pack of items. When the customer carries the packed item to the bill counter, the salesman has to just scan the barcode for billing. This enables an easy, quick and efficient billing for the person at the billing counter.

Where is it useful?
Weighing scale barcode is used in places where you want to measure the exact weight of the items sold in weights or pieces.

A. Weighable Items

Items like Grains, Fruits, Vegetables are weighable. When packed in a single packet, these items need to be weighed exactly before billing.

B. Non-weighable (Countable) items

There are also other items that come as pieces viz. Cauliflower, Coconuts etc. which cannot be weighed instead they are counted (in units) for billing.

Weighing process

The weighing scale barcode is a proper method for weighing the packed items before billing. After picking the items in a packet, the packet is weighed in the weighing scale. The operator enters the code for the weighed item. Upon weighing the packet, the weighing scale measures the weight of the items in the packet and calculate the rate for the item. For countable items, the operator manually enters the number of pieces of the items inside the packet and the rate of the items is calculated. Based on the weight/count and rate of the item(s), a barcode label is generated. The generated barcode label is then printed and pasted on the packet.
