What is Product type, Classify the types with explanation?

Purpose:-  The purpose of GST calculation based on product type is to make difference for service type item as tax exempted in both Servquick POS and for online orders which were receiving from aggregator.

 In product type we split the item under two types "Goods/service". If we choose the product type as Goods, Tax will be calculated as per the gst tax percentage were mapped , but if we select the service item in product type , if tax field entered as tax exempted so that it will calculated as zero for the respective item.

New RULE: Indian Govt has decided to charge GST from food delivery platforms like Swiggy, Zomato, etc on restaurant services effect from 01.01.2022. Once the changes are implemented with effect from 01.01.2022, the food delivery companies will collect the tax from consumers and pay it directly to the government on behalf of the Restaurant.

How to mark the product type as "Goods/Service" in item master

Steps 1:Go to Master->Menu->Item->Add item/Edit item->choose product type as "Goods/Service"

If you choose Goods , it will work as  GST tax will be calculated according to the GST percentage

If we choose service item , and tax details should be updated as tax exempted so that tax will calculated zero.

Step 2:In order type screen, Go to settings->Tax->order type->edit the location->go to the  particular order type ->Mark the "Online Applicable" as yes

How it will work in sales screen as per the Tax inclusive and Tax Exclusive item:

Go to sales screen ->For the service type item ->if the tax inclusive->it will remain the same price of selling price

For service type item->if the tax as exclusive->price will be reduced from goods amount
